My good friend invited me to spend the week-end with her school friend and their families. We went to Azales Falls Lodge. We spent Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and headed home at 10:30 on Sunday. We had more food than we could eat and it was all great. I want to show you some pictures of the cabin.

The patio wrapped around the house.  Three thousand square feet of rest and relaxing.  We read, talked ate and watch the scenery from off the decks.  The water fall was not running deep, but he runs all the time.

The squirrels ran around the ream of the metal railing and the possum loved the bird feeders.  Friday night the possum ate all of the food out of one feeder.

The steps on the deck run down to a metal gate that leads toward the hiking trip.

These were the steps up to the top of the hill.  No cell service, but strange as it seems I could get on line.  I even had bars on my phone.  Others had to climb to the top to call.  If you  climbed these steps each day you would not be over weight.

This is a picture of the water falls from the deck using my long range camera lens.  The hike was difficult for me.  Not because of my age nor the dicciculty of the hike put I made the mistake of taking my big camera and I was constantly having to be careful not too hit the rocks.  Next time I take my point and shot.  With it and my hiking stick  I would have made it fine, except the bear we hear and the snake we found.  We did finish the hike only because to go back meant we would be going back were we heard the bear.  I think we probably rushed it also.  I would like to go back and visit the trail again.
In one of the living rooms we found several jornals. About the quest that had stayed there.  Some little girl had loved the rocking rose soo much that she named it.  It was beautiful.
The lodge had two living rooms. Four bedrooms, and three couchs that made into beds. and I am not sure how many bathrooms.  The house was totally filled with antiques.

This is my best friend Elizabeth.  We have had a lot of fun together.  She is a teacher in the Clarksville school district.  Our last night at the lodge was spent moaning and groaning because of all the food we had eaten.  We talked and laughed until way into the morning. We both agreed we had eaten to much and decided not to do that again.
I wore my BettyBoop T-shirt that MaKara's grand had given me.  It was Betty Boop's 80th birthday.  Elizabeth bought me a BJ set.  Pale yellow with Betty Boop on the top and pants.  Love them.

I am standing at the bottom of these steps.  They lead you off the trail and back to the lodge.  They were original just logs cut for steps but this year they added the two by fours for more strength.  Not rails to hold on to.  It was a rope that helped you pull yourself up the stairs. And I mean pull.

I spotted this rose bush leaving the country road leaving the lodge.  Elizabeth is a beautiful person behind the beautiful yellow roses.
I looked a little tired.  Why did I keep my sunglasses on, not sure.  The roses were beautfil tho.

As you can tell, I had a wonderful week-end.  Every one needs to get away and spend with friends and out in God's nature.

MaKara's Birthday Celebration

Tiffany made MaKara a birthday cake for her 14th birthday.  She did such a good job.  I have never seen feathers on a cake but they looked great.

What a beautiful birthday girl.  We celebrated MaKara's birthday at my house since we were altogether for Easter.  It just doesn not seem possible that I have a fourteen year old grand daughter.

Tiffany did such a great job on the cake and the smile on MaKara's face showed what a beautiful lady she is.
