COLLECTIONS

Collections, I have heard if you have three of anything it must be collection. If that is the case I have several collections.
I love hats and I have more than three. In fact I have over 15 hats. I wear them to play, to work, to shop, to travel and to church. They are fun and I love the compliments that I get from my hats.
I bought this one at Cathy’s Florist and I get compliments on it every time I wear it. When friends ask they can’t believe that I bought it at a florist shop.

I bought several hats when I was in the Red Hat Society several years ago. It was a lot of fun because several girls here at work formed a group and we went out once a month. We wore red hats and purple outfits and under forty ladies wore pink hats. We had a great time. We even took in a musical in Little Rock and Phyllis West’s daughter was in the performance.
was a great time.
I wore a ski mask during our last snow when we went four-wheeler riding. Not my favorite but it sure did a good job.
I also have a fishing hat. It does take care of my nose and ears but it does not make me a better fishermen.

I collect books. I love books. Reading is one my hobbies. For my daughter’s college graduation gift Dennis and I gave her the Caldecott gold medal winning award books starting at her birth in 1973 going to the year she graduated from College. I read everyone I gave her and even more, because I sometimes bought the silver medal winners because I liked them so well.
I read after different authors. When I read I usually have several books going at the same time. That way depending on my frame of mind, I always have plenty to read. I have at least one book that is a challenge for me to read. Right now I am reading two that are slow going. One is by C. S. Lewis, enough said and I am reading a book on Heaven by Randy Alcorn. I have so enjoyed reading this book but it has been over a year since I started it. I have been in Church all my life but I never was taught much about Heaven, only that I should want to go there and that is where God is. The Bible tells us so much more. I think preachers need to preach more on Heaven. When the sun breaks through the clouds I looking up wondering if Jesus is coming back. I am longing for the day when I will spend an eternity with Him. I am not looking toward death but the rapture when all my family will go at the same time. What a wonderful time we would have in discovering what Heaven is all about.
I love to read after David Jeremiah, Charles Swindoll, Adrian Rogers, Max Lucado,

If you read my sisters blog you will know that my Mom and sister are big readers. I also have several of my mom’s books from her teenage years and the books were written the 30’s and 40’s. I have her books displayed in my antique hutch.
I do read murder mysteries but I don’t read many that are current because of the language. I like Alex Cross’s books so I wait until they go on sale or I found them at yard sales and then purchase them. Crofton is another mystery writer that I read after.
I read the daily devotions from Turning Point from Southern Baptist Convention and Daily Bread. I also have a daily devotional book that Turning Point had printed in Leather and gold leave edges and it is not just for this year. You can start reading any day. I like that real well when things get to busy to keep up with the others.
I told you about my Kindle. This is my toy and I sure enjoy having Amazon at my beck and call. It is fun to go and pick a book out and then be able to start reading it within seconds.
